Ultimate glossary of crypto currency terms, acronyms and abbreviations

I thought it would be really cool to have an ultimate guide for those new to crypto currencies and the terms used. I made this mostly for beginner’s and veterans alike. I’m not sure how much use you will get out of this. Stuff gets lost on Reddit quite easily so I hope this finds its way to you. Included in this list, I have included most of the terms used in crypto-communities. I have compiled this list from a multitude of sources. The list is in alphabetical order and may include some words/terms not exclusive to the crypto world but may be helpful regardless.
2FA
Two factor authentication. I highly advise that you use it.
51% Attack:
A situation where a single malicious individual or group gains control of more than half of a cryptocurrency network’s computing power. Theoretically, it could allow perpetrators to manipulate the system and spend the same coin multiple times, stop other users from completing blocks and make conflicting transactions to a chain that could harm the network.
Address (or Addy):
A unique string of numbers and letters (both upper and lower case) used to send, receive or store cryptocurrency on the network. It is also the public key in a pair of keys needed to sign a digital transaction. Addresses can be shared publicly as a text or in the form of a scannable QR code. They differ between cryptocurrencies. You can’t send Bitcoin to an Ethereum address, for example.
Altcoin (alternative coin): Any digital currency other than Bitcoin. These other currencies are alternatives to Bitcoin regarding features and functionalities (e.g. faster confirmation time, lower price, improved mining algorithm, higher total coin supply). There are hundreds of altcoins, including Ether, Ripple, Litecoin and many many others.
AIRDROP:

AML: Defines Anti-Money Laundering laws**.**
ARBITRAGE:

The expression “Ashdraked” comes from a story of a Romanian cryptocurrency investor who insisted upon shorting BTC, as he had done so successfully in the past. When the price of BTC rose from USD 300 to USD 500, the Romanian investor lost all of his money.

He is now in the mentally ill meme hall of fame.
Block:
A package of permanently recorded data about transactions occurring every time period (typically about 10 minutes) on the blockchain network. Once a record has been completed and verified, it goes into a blockchain and gives way to the next block. Each block also contains a complex mathematical puzzle with a unique answer, without which new blocks can’t be added to the chain.
Blockchain:
An unchangeable digital record of all transactions ever made in a particular cryptocurrency and shared across thousands of computers worldwide. It has no central authority governing it. Records, or blocks, are chained to each other using a cryptographic signature. They are stored publicly and chronologically, from the genesis block to the latest block, hence the term blockchain. Anyone can have access to the database and yet it remains incredibly difficult to hack.

Process: To put it simply, more and more Chinese foreign trade companies are using USDT for payment collection and choosing to avoid THE US dollar because of the long payment collection cycle in US dollar, customs clearance fee, wire transfer fee, exchange rate fluctuations, depreciation of US dollar and other reasons....
If you are a newbie and don't know where to buy USDT, you can choose Huobi or [link]1 to buy USDT. At the same time, you need to register [link]2 , which is a exchange service platform for foreign trade enterprises in greater China and headquartered in Hong Kong. Invitation code: RJTGVI.
After registration, it will be approved in about two hours, and then you can withdraw your USDT purchased from Huobi or Binance to [link]2 , and choose the highest bidder to sell. After the sale, you will receive USDT Trc20, and you can cash out your USDT Trc20 by selling it through Binance or Huobi. So you've made an arbitrage play.
Benefits: The principal is $5,000, which can be exchanged for more than 700 USDT at the current price. The premium of each USDT is $0.1, and the profit of one handling is $70, and the profit of ten handling is $700.An average of eight times a day is enough, because the number of times depends on the order limit of the foreign trade company. The principal is $10,000, and the profit is about $140.Can keep moving bricks every day, the principal of 10,000, a day to earn thousands of dollars 800 no problem. But the premise is, the key, the key, the key -- see the foreign trade company hang sheet immediately make a move to give him, otherwise the premium is fleeting, will be other acceptor to grab sheet.
Extension: Conditional, can consider to go to Hong Kong to do an HSBC or standard Chartered account, buy more cheap USDT by means of telegraphic transfer, also can look for tether domestic agent to buy USDT, if such operation can be more comfortable stuffy sound rich, but the premise is to have personal assets proof. The Student Party does not consider this method for the time being, because your principal is small (non-discrimination, please do not be too sensitive, I just graduated three years ago, I worked my ass off to run errands for customs clearance company...).

03-11 16:45 - 'Coinburrow perpetual Algo Launched' (self.Bitcoin) by /u/Material_Brick removed from /r/Bitcoin within 163-173min

'''
The Australia-based exchange said Wednesday in a blog post that its new “Perpetual Algo” feature provides leverage up to three times or "3x" for individual investors in 30 countries and 23 U.S. states, including the lucrative New York market. The leverage is also available to institutional traders in 44 states and Twenty Five countries.
The 3x leverage matches C’oinBurrow’s previous margin offering from 2017. CoinBurrow, led by Analyst Allyssa Sosa, briefly offered margin trading at the time, but suspended the service later in the year. Executives had been signaling since early 2019 that they were considering reviving the effort.
The resurgent push by Coinburrow comes as competition heats up among the world’s crypto exchanges, and the biggest players are scrambling to attract customers and transaction volumes with new digital-token listings and features like better trading technology, more leverage and more-secure custody options.
“Perpetual Algo” has been one of our most requested features," Coinburrow said in the blog post.
Several big non-U.S.-based exchanges, including Binance, BitMEX and Deribit, offer leverage of 100 times or more on futures contracts and other derivatives, but many of those offerings are off-limits to American customers. While U.S. traders can get leverage to buy regulated bitcoin futures contracts on the CME and Intercontinental Exchange’s Bakkt division, those venues require special accounts to trade commodities.
Leverage is considered risky in trading because it boosts the chances of losses alongside the enhanced potential for gains.
In an example of how Coinburrow’s new offering will work, traders could put $2999 down and continue up to $10000 of bitcoin from the exchange for trading with bitcoin perpetual Algo, increasing the potential size of the bet to x2-x3 worth of bitcoin. If bitcoin’s price climbs by 33 percent, traders would double their original investment.
In the blog post, Coinburrow said the perpetual funds can be used to trade other cryptocurrencies, in addition to tripling-down on a single digital asset like bitcoin: " If deployed as part of a responsible trading strategy perpetual trading algo doesn’t just increase your position in a specific trade but can also help diversify your portfolio, allowing you to hedge or arbitrage across multiple positions without depositing additional capital."
Coinburrow is notable because it is one of only a few big cryptocurrency exchanges based in Australia., submitting to the nation’s strict regulations in exchange for access to customers from the world’s largest economy. Started in the early years of the crypto industry in 2017, Coinburrow has long been used by cryptocurrency newcomers as an “on-ramp” into bitcoin and other digital assets from dollars and other government-issued money. The company now claims to have more than 30 thousand users.
[EARN FROM THE NEW INNOVATION ( COINBURROW.]1 . )
With coinburrow you can mine various kind of cryptocurrency based on what you are familiar with and how much you can afford, Also it based on how long you want the investment span to be.. You can invest $2999 and earn unto $5000 over a period of 55 days¦ You can also invest in the Bitcoin perpetual Algo, where you can earn over a period a year or 2 years.. [Cloud Mining I Crypto Investment]2 COINBURROW Can help you build your wealth while you continue with your day to day earnings.

All in

Been in Crypto for a while and I believe this is the first time I ever went all in on one coin. This will either go be looked at in the future as the ramblings of a rich idiot, or just an idiot. I'm mainly making this post to write down my own thoughts and prove to myself I'm confident in my decesion by letting a bunch of strangers in an echo chamber who will agree with anything said on this subreddit as long as it's bullish regarding tomo, so I don't really care as I never told anyone around me I'm in crypto.
Anyways I've been in Tomo for a while as seen here and for the most part this is why it's been in my portfolio. https://reddit.com/Tomochain/comments/b29kob/why_do_you_think_tomochain_will_be_successful/eiriabt/
I've always tried to keep my portfolio small, max up to 5 coins but I'm starting to restrict that to one and expand it out as I have more money to do so. I took posts like this one: https://www.reddit.com/ethtradecomments/6chmu6/i_just_became_a_crypto_millionaire/dhuowo0?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x and thought long and hard.
One of my main biggest points of going all in on Tomo is tomox and I'm deliberately making this post before the testnet but ideally if Tomox is what, from what I'm reading it to be, it will undoubtedly make Tomo huge.
The biggest thing is the whole one order book, regardless of if it's on Binance, bittrex, or a DEX, this will provide liquidity for any new exchange, giving Tomo and and coins built upon it the best liquidity as well as the best protection against whales since they can't go arbitrage trading if everything has one big book. But this brings me to my question, how will Tomox be intergrated with Binance and bittrex since they already have their own relayers, will they have to update their systems to adapt (which if I'm understanding correctly will save them money in the long run) or can they just bypass it and ignore tomox altogether.
  1. Tomox gives users the best experience since unlike IDEX or Etherdelta you don't have to deposit your tokens so you can keep them in your wallet as well as use the exchange you like the best since it's one big order book. Also, as long as Tomochain is running you'll always be able to sell your tokens since the DEX is literally built into the blockchain
  2. TOMOX targets the main thing everyone in cryptocurrency has to do/ has done, which is trading. Bitcoin targeted what we used to trade aka currency while Tomox is targeting markets themselves, again everyone of us has used an exchange.
  3. TOMOX actually makes something out of the whole "2k TPS" thing, which was a pushing point for a lot of cc projects before, that they had thosuands of TPS, but the thing is, having a lot of TPS doesn't mean shit if no one is using it, TOMOX will (again if I'm understanding correctly) make full use of Tomochain's TPS since the orders are sent to masternodes themselves.
  4. TOMOX gives Tomo token and the underlying blockchain as well as the masternodes more usecases. You can now use your Tomo to save up and open up your own DEX, the blockchain will be tested hard by processing orders. Masternode holders will have to be the ones that match those orders.
Ideally this is how I see it, Bitcoin revolutionized what we trade with whilst Tomox will target what we use to trade, going and hand hand.
Again this (in my mind) will be big if it all goes down the way I see it which is why I went all in, This doesn't even mention Tomoz which will make people want to build on Tomo since they can use their own coin to pay for transactions, and those coins will automatically be added to Dexs given Tomox, or any of the reasons I brought up here: https://reddit.com/Tomochain/comments/b29kob/why_do_you_think_tomochain_will_be_successful/eiriabt/
Or the fact that after Tomox is released the next target is privacy
" Afterward, the next major stage of development will focus on expanding TomoChain 2.0 to further support real demands for scalability, privacy, and private chains with technologies currently at the research stage such as sharding, ZK-snark, side-chain and private chain generation. "
To sum up mainly why I went all in even though it's a bad idea it's mainly TOMOX, everyone is trying to find something to do with their blockchain and most focus on gaming/gambling. TOMOX itself targets something that everyone involved in crypto has to do, which is use an exchange, everyone says DEXS are the future and that's because a blockchain based exchange is a no brainier for a blockchain. But mostly all the projects go about it by making their own semi centralised exchange then calls it a DEX. TOMOX instead intergrates what's needed to build a DEX in the blockchain bringing entrepreneurs who want to run DEXES to Tomochain and since you need TOMO it gives tomochain's token another usecase. Right now the targeted audience (crypto users) highest values are trading their tokens for a higher price, exchanges play a big hand in that.
Anyways I do have my doubts that being, all this is only based off of what I think I'm understanding and it looks to good to be true which some of it will be tested in the next two days. And the fact that this is a decentralized project with a CEO. But again, as time goes on the coin can become more and more decentralized.
Once again, this will most likely be deleted a couple months after posting, mainly of the reasons stated at the beginning.
Since I know people will ask my portfolio use to be consist of BTC, ETH, KMD, DCR, and TOMO, now it's just the latter. I do plan on going into the other projects, but I make portfolio changes based off of the year for tax purposes, so that won't happen till 21. And I went all in a while ago not because of this most recent "pump", this post is only being made now because we're so close to Tomox's testnet which will tell me if I need to listen to myself more, or of I am just an idiot who assumes to much. Granted because of this recent pump I am doing very good.

Weekly Dev Update #17

THORChain Weekly Dev Update for Week 12–18 Nov 2019

![](https://miro.medium.com/max/2880/1*Fy-NCZAKhgbZmE-iEIQChQ.png)

Recent Changes

Some recent updates to the protocol:

Update to Emission

The first iteration of the block reward scheme was announced in the previous weekly update. An immediate concern raised from the community was that the emission was too aggressive in the initial year and rewards dropped off fast beyond the 5 year mark. Taking Bitcoin’s emission as an example, the emission curve has been updated to target 2% emission after 10 years.
![](https://miro.medium.com/max/2384/1*gqBLvJOl2G4n3IHW1rViKg.png)
The Block Reward equation is given by the following recurrence equation: g(n+2) = ((R - (g(n+1) + g(n))) / x) / y Which evaluates to: ![](https://miro.medium.com/max/1624/1*ttpsRd7HUs2-7hvDGO6elg.png) where: R = Reserve, x = 6 (Arbitrary Emission Factor) y = (seconds per day / seconds per block) / days per year y = (86400 / 5) * 365.2425 The final curve thus has a Day 0 emission of 25%, Year 1 emission of 20% and Year 10 emission of 2%.

ChaosNet

The original plan for BEPSwap (prior to the Yggdrasil liquidity breakthrough) was to have it as a separate mainnet before launching the real THORChain in 2020 with cross-chain support. Now THORChain has in-built cross-chain support and a clear roadmap to 99 nodes. This means the mainnet launch will have public, community-run nodes at the start. The community has been fielding many questions about how to run a node, and the mechanics in doing so. Since the THORChain team will not be running any nodes, it is necessary to have a full-rehearsal with the community at launch. As such, the plan is for a public ChaosNet on 03 January 2020. ChaosNet will have the following key differences: * Minimum bond of 100k RUNE. * Maximum of 12 Nodes. * Churn cycle of 1 day. * Maximum stake amount of 600k RUNE total. * 2.7m RUNE Protocol Reserve to emit Bond and Stake rewards. * Hard-coded Ragnorök at 6 weeks.
Any member who wishes to join ChaosNet to get accustomed to running a node can do so, and will receive Block Rewards roughly equivalent to mainnet (25%). They will be setting up nodes, churning in, servicing the network and earning rewards. The system will hold up to 600k Rune, at which point it will refund any additional staked amount. The community can stake small amounts of real assets, prepare arbitrage bots, set up telegram alert bots and more. In short, it is a public rehearsal with the entire community across all facets (nodes, stakers, traders) so that everyone will have access to the same information and not unfairly benefit when the real mainnet launches. Additionally, the system will be hard-coded to perform a Ragnorök 6 weeks later, which will refund all the remaining reserve as well as bonded and staked assets. This will go a long way in re-assuring the community that the system can tolerate all levels of risk, including black-swan events, and that funds are safe at all times.

Internal Arbitrage

A new feature will be launched that will allow users to use internal arbitrage. This is an asymmetrical withdrawal to Rune, then immediately followed by a asymmetrical stake of Rune in another pool. A trader may want to do this instead of doing transactional arbitrage in order to exploit price differences between two pools the fastest way possible. Instead of an outgoing transaction being processed, followed by another incoming transaction, Rune balances and stakeUnits are swapped internally, being completed inside of a few seconds.

Fee-based Transaction Prioritisation

Currently there is no prioritisation to the order of transactions, all transactions are simply processed in order of time received. In moments of high demand of network resources (such as when there are large arbitrage opportunities and users are racing to exploit them), transactions will queue in the mempool. If the system cannot respond fast enough, then the reason for high demand will persist (the large arbitrage opportunity). The solution is to remove the reason for high demand in the first place, which is the large arbitrage opportunity, at the same time as collecting the maximum revenue for the system. As such, in the checkTx method (which can triage the mempool), transactions will be sorted and ordered in the value of the fee of the swap transaction. Assuming rational actors, the following transactions will then be prioritised over all others: * A transaction from an impatient swapper who is willing to pay a large fee. * A transaction from a trader who is able to arbitrage out a price discrepancy (and still make a gain).
This then means the system can collect as much income as possible (good for the stakers) at the same time as prioritising transactions that can arbitrage out large price discrepancies quickly. This then means swaps from transient swappers will experience a market price that accurately matches the reference price at all times.

BEPSwap Development

The team are working on 4 parallel streams of effort. Cross-chain infrastructure has now been merged into a single repo called “THORNode”. * THORChain * Midgard Public API * Threshold Signature Scheme implementation * Front-end Integration for BEPSwap

THORChain

Bug fixes, refactoring, as well as more logic around Yggdrasil funding. Additionally, node churn and the first part of block rewards PR was merged. * Add admin config event, fix tx out events https://gitlab.com/thorchain/bepswap/thornode/merge_requests/255 * Resolve “Select a satellite pool to swap out” https://gitlab.com/thorchain/bepswap/thornode/merge_requests/253 * Include the thorcli volume for the signer. https://gitlab.com/thorchain/bepswap/thornode/merge_requests/261 * Rune Reserves, block rewards, bond units, oh my! https://gitlab.com/thorchain/bepswap/thornode/merge_requests/258 * Add mechanism to slash a node account bond or rewards https://gitlab.com/thorchain/bepswap/thornode/merge_requests/264 * Add add event https://gitlab.com/thorchain/bepswap/thornode/merge_requests/262 * Issue198 node churn https://gitlab.com/thorchain/bepswap/thornode/merge_requests/270 * Issue199 — fix signer doesn’t process multiple txout item https://gitlab.com/thorchain/bepswap/thornode/merge_requests/271 * issue194: only rune get refund for invalid memo https://gitlab.com/thorchain/bepswap/thornode/merge_requests/272 * Outbound — mark txout item out hash based on the coin as well https://gitlab.com/thorchain/bepswap/thornode/merge_requests/273

Midgard Public API

Database ported from influxdb to timescaledb (more maturity, better developer tooling). Endpoints built out include/pools and /stakers. * Feature/new endpoint format, refactors and general clean ups
The OpenApi Schema can be reviewed here:
https://testnet-api.bepswap.net/v1/doc

Threshold Signature Scheme

TSS was successfully implemented into the Genesis ceremony, with the focus now being on the key-gen and key-sign ceremonies. Multi-cast DNS was switched out for a distributed hash table to facilitate node discovery. * Issue4 — docker images and ci https://gitlab.com/thorchain/tss/multi-party-ecdsa-dockemerge_requests/5 * Fix a docker bug https://gitlab.com/thorchain/tss/multi-party-ecdsa-dockemerge_requests/6
A proof-of-concept is being prepared using BinanceChain TSS library, which was recently launched in order to make a decision whether to switch libraries. A go-based implementation is better for THORNode, since it is also written in Go.
https://github.com/binance-chain/tss-lib

Frontend Implementation

Bug-fixes and tweaks from community feedback. The frontend is now ready for implementation with the latest Midgard API. * Resolve “Write cypress e2e test for pool stake list view” https://gitlab.com/thorchain/bepswap/bepswap-react-app/merge_requests/164 * Resolve “Update rune token icon” https://gitlab.com/thorchain/bepswap/bepswap-react-app/merge_requests/165 * Resolve “Update confirmation modal” https://gitlab.com/thorchain/bepswap/bepswap-react-app/merge_requests/166 * Resolve “Update wallet view” https://gitlab.com/thorchain/bepswap/bepswap-react-app/merge_requests/167 * Resolve “Add tooltip for wallet connection” https://gitlab.com/thorchain/bepswap/bepswap-react-app/merge_requests/168

Timelines

The team are working for these milestones: * Feature Freeze: 20 November 2019 on-time * Audit: 20 December 2019 on-time * ChaosNet: 03 January 2020 on-time

What is crypto arbitrage and is it effective?

What is crypto arbitrage and is it effective?

What is crypto arbitrage and is it effective?
Cryptocurrency arbitrage allows you to earn on the difference in the value of assets. This type of trading came from traditional financial markets and has become widely used by crypto traders.

Types of cryptocurrency arbitrage

There are two main types of crypto arbitrage:
  • Inter-exchange
  • Intra-exchange
The first and most common way is to buy cryptocurrency on one exchange at a lower price and sell it on another at a higher price. There are many factors to consider in this approach: spread, fees, transaction speed, price movement speed, trend direction and so on.
The second method is more complex, but less risky, because all transactions are made on the same exchange, and the work goes faster. A popular scheme is the so-called intra-exchange triangle, based on the difference in the rates of several cryptocurrencies. Two or more cryptocurrencies are involved in the trade. For example, the first bitcoin is bought, then BTC is exchanged for XLM, which is sold for dollars.

Disadvantages of crypto arbitrage

The method is quite difficult for beginners and requires a certain set of skills. It is necessary to carry out complex calculations and take fees into account: both trading and cryptocurrency deposit and withdrawal fees. It is profitable to engage in inter-exchange arbitrage only when the trader has a sufficiently large deposit since the total fee can be up to 200 or more dollars. This increases the risks significantly.
When conducting inter-exchange arbitrage with cryptocurrencies such as BTC or ETH, the rate can change significantly due to fairly slow transactions, which, under high load on the network, can hang for several hours.

How effective is crypto arbitrage

Arbitrage can be effective due to high volatility and rapid changes in the exchange rate of cryptocurrencies. But for the same reason, it can lead to losses as the price can quickly level off or become lower at the time of sale.
It is more appropriate to use intra-exchange arbitrage. Trade-mate.io service, which allows you to manage assets in a single window, will help you a lot. Currently, three major exchanges can be connected: Binance, Bitmex, and Poloniex. If you decide to use inter-exchange arbitrage, you can track prices and quickly sell on two exchanges at once. For example, open long on Binance and short on Bitmex without withdrawing funds to save time.

Still no withdrawals for Horizen, Dash, etc...

Messaged support a week ago and still haven't received a response so I'm taking to the reddit for some reasoning/ clarification if some can be provided. Several different cryptocurrencies on the exchange have not been open to withdrawal for months now. New tokens have been added to the exchange and have the ability to be withdrawn (ex. Quant) but some of the original coins still aren't able to be withdrawn. The withdrawal page has said "coming soon" for some of these tokens for months and its becoming frustrating that the low volume and the inability to withdraw tokens means I either leave them on the exchange (vulnerable to hacks like seen in binance) or sell them for roughly 30% lower than the current trading price in sats (on other exchanges). Is there an obvious reason I'm missing for the inability to withdraw certain tokens?

I understand Coss has been dealing with other things that are higher priority like working on this merger fiasco but I would imagine for an exchange that has seen volume decline massively to at least allow people the ability to arbitrage would help increase volume.

TLDR: Why hasn't Dash, Bitcoin cash, Dash, Icon, etc. withdrawals opened up after months of "coming soon" on the withdrawal page?

There were some serious issues at Amazon Web Services on Friday

There were some serious issues at Amazon Web Services on Friday
🔵There were some serious issues at Amazon Web Services on Friday, impacting many crypto exchanges, especially in Asia. Binance, KuCoin and Bitmex all experienced API errors and abnormal price volatility. For instance, some people apparently bought Bitcoin for less than $1. But how would you know of such an opportunity? The best is to have an intraexchange arbitrage bot running, ready to catch such price windows. And at OneExBit, we already have such a bot! Even better, it's completely free.

CELT update

https://steemit.com/coss/@spielley/celt-coss-exchange-liquidity-token

CELT - COSS Exchange Liquidity Token

What is CELT, why is it created?

CELT is an ERC20 token that can be bought and sold at its contract. It's created to fund a bot that operates on the COSS exchange. The bot takes the form of being a market maker. It detects how big the void is between buying and selling orders on the orderbook of a pair and decreases it, depending on the reserve it has. It decreases it by putting a buy limit order and a sell limit order within the void. When both these positions get filled the bot realises a small profit. If you want to trade you need a counterparty to trade with. If you don't have a counterparty to trade with, you can't trade, you'll need to trade at a price someone does want to trade at. The CELTbot tries to provide better prices for users to trade at instead of having to trade at a standard big loss due to the lack of standing orders on the orderbook.

Expanding functionallity with arbitrage

Because of the recent partnership with thaodehx where he's doing arbitrage between coss and Binance I decided to ask the CELT holders on reddit if I should add my own huobipro -COSS arbitrage bot into the game using CELT funds. After getting their opinions on this I finally booted it up yesterday with 0.5 ETH of my own and 30 OMG from the CELT wallet. Huobiprohistory is showing 130+ trades have been done since startup. Everybody wins with increased volume and profitable trades. The bot is active on all pairs in common between COSS and huobi.

Wallet performance

Last week @aume27 created an improved spreadsheet for me to keep track of the Wallets funds and performance. I decided to actually start keeping decent track of the wallet perfomance in ether equivalent now it has been made easyer to do so and not as time consuming. I've added huobipro's wallet equivalent in bitcoin to todays calculation and will keep doing it that way. It's not there in the previous ones cause it's only been setup since yesterday.

Wallet holdings buildup:

Wallet Etherequivalent evolution:

![](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmQ6oLC1Q5bCGbW7U1kc5wcjLq8sbMzjrFTixFjKZjj9cx/image.png) Keep in mind that the first 2 colums are creating a new baseline with the new reporting system. Do not be alarmed that we are down in ethequivalent value, we have been accumulating crypto during this downtrend we'll be back in profit when the limit sell positions on top get filled again. We accumulated all the way on the downtrend and are now back in uptrend, CELTbot works best in ranging markets where people just exchange with the bot and the bot gets more turnover. You can see that in a week time the etherequivalent has been uptrending now. Todays report is a bit off because of the Huobi wallet to BTC conversion, I expect it to flatten out if I keep reporting its contents the same way each day.

The overview graph:

![](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmZFJsiEnr8HK9LryPUm6mvRpA2KC8NDP5HxWCQU2PDkhY/image.png)

Buy and sell CELT at its contract.

The easiest way to buy and sell CELT is if you use this site if you have metamask: https://celt.dvx.me/ Otherwise refer to the CELT launch post to buy with Myetherwallet: https://steemit.com/celt/@spielley/the-cossening-celt-launch-and-how-to-get-and-sell-them

New funds use:

If you are buying CELT let me know where you want your funds to be used: - Increasing the orderbooks on coss and improving the spread of pairs - Increase the arbitrage part - If you want your funds to be only used to increase the orderbook of ETH/BTC for this is the heart of our COSS exchange. - Let me decide what's best use of the new funds

Example of the Bots new arbitrage trading:

![](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmW92RVzBEV5q5boUjnLwndjzfK8V77HtBwydN75yL2kfZ/image.png) The first Trade happens on COSS and the 2nd happens on huobi. this is a 0.3146% diffrence in price. Deduct fees huobi: 0.2% and deduct fees COSS: 0.04% leaves us with +/- 0.0746% gain on a 0.1 LTC arb trade on LTC/BTC pairs.

Expanding arbitrage to other exchanges

If people are willing to fund this and if it is within my botting power to do so, I will be adding other exchanges to our dear CELTbot. First on my mind would be to add Kucoin to the fold as I can imagine a lot of pairs being in common. I would need to check to be sure how many there are. Since Thaodehx already has binance setup I will leave that one up to him as last I heard he was planning to move forward with the funding.

COSSbot group

Some people keep thinking that CELTbot is the same as the COSSbot from the community COSSbot group. I did join their coding effort and provided an automated trading strategy. It's now available for alpha acces. More info about this here: https://medium.com/@jimmydeal/cossbot-alpha-testing-commenced-85af5824f50b

accumulationbot.com

Further I am working on providing a freemium cossbot spinoff through https://accumulationbot.com/ When COSS releases API everybody will have acces to an accumulationbot and will be able to autotrade their coss account and accumulate their favorite crypto's!. I would still encourage everyone to join the alpha cossbot group as people in there will get a free subscription for an amount of time to accumulationbot.com. The site is still under construction and I can't ETA the actual launch of it.

decentralgear.com

The site owner is a COSS supporter and supporter of the coding effort for COSS, he is offering a 10% discount if you use the discount code SP10 at his store. So if you're looking for crypto related merch make sure to stop by his site to check out https://www.decentralgear.com/

Roadmap

I hope you guys enjoyed this week's monster steemit update. Help me out by upvoting here and spreading the word.

🔵Understanding the basics of intra-exchange arbitrage

🔵Understanding the basics of intra-exchange arbitrage
🔵Understanding the basics of intra-exchange arbitrage
The work on the OneExBit arbitrage bot is almost finished, and naturally we are getting lots of questions from the community. In particular, many users ask if our bot will search for arbitrage opportunities across different exchanges (inter-exchange) or within one exchange (intra-exchange). In this post, we'll try to give a detailed answer.
The first edition of our bot will search for intra-exchange windows – support for interexchange arbitrage will be added later on. At first, you'll be able to use the bot with Bitfinex and Binance; in the next few months, it will become possible to search for opportunities on all the exchanges integrated into the OneExBit terminal, such as Poloniex, HitBTC, BitMex, and so forth.
🔵Why traditional arbitrage can be risky
Most users who are familiar with arbitrage trading don't even realize that there are two types of arbitrage. The one we are most used to is inter-exchange – that is, searching for price differences for the same asset across different exchanges. However, this type of arbitrage has a serious problem: once you find a good window and purchase an asset on exchange A at a lower price, you have to withdraw it, send it to exchange B and then sell it there, potentially withdrawing the proceeds after that. This creates two risks:
a) withdrawing asset A, you can incur significant fees, which will eat up part of your profit from the arbitrage deal;
b) sending the asset from one exchange to another will take time – sometimes minutes (which is a lot of time in crypto trading). While you wait for the asset to be deposited in your account, the arbitrage window can close. It can happen because other arbitrage traders will notice the window and rush in; or because the exchange itself will eliminate it.
These risks can be mitigated by looking for price differences within the same exchange – it is called intra-exchange, or triangular arbitrage.
🔵What is intra-exchange arbitrage, anyway?
This type of arbitrage is called triangular because you need to perform trades with three different assets. The key fact to understand is that relative prices for several assets on the same exchange are not exactly proportionate to each other – there are often large spreads. For example, imagine that at a certain exchange 1 Bitcoin is traded for $9500 and at the same time for 1 BTC you can get 43 ETH. So what would be the price of ETH in US dollars? Someone who has studied math at school (but not trading) would think that it's enough to divide by 9500 by 43 – you'd get $221 for one ETH. However, that's now how crypto trading works. Since the market is inefficient, relative price changes don't spread instantly, especially when volatility is high. So, it's quite possible that the ETH/USD price is $230, for example. How can you profit from this difference?
Step 1. Buy 1 BTC for $9500.
Step 2. Exchange your 1 BTC for 43 ETH.
Step 3. Sell your ETH for USD and get 43*230=9890
You started with $9500 and ended up with $9890 – not bad! Of course, this is an idealized example; in reality there are also the fees to consider. If the fee is 0.2%, for instance, you'd pay circa $40 in fees for the two trades. Still, you'd get a net profit of $350.
The art of intra-exchange arbitrage is finding price windows with spreads large enough to cover all the fees and still leave you with a good profit. That's exactly what the OneExBit bot will do. Triangular arbitrage is a great tool in times of volatility, because resulting spreads are larger.
Follow our updates and don't miss the launch of the bot!
Best regards,

[uncensored-r/CryptoCurrency] Predictions for 2018 and lessons learned from trends in 2017

The following post by arsonbunny is being replicated because some comments within the post(but not the post itself) have been openly removed.
The original post can be found(in censored form) at this link:
np.reddit.com/ CryptoCurrency/comments/7qk781
The original post's content was as follows:
I'd like to take the time to reflect on the crazy year that was 2017 for cryptocurrency investors, and weigh in on what we've learned over the past year, while also making a few predictions for the future.
One year feels like a decade in crypto, and so many various forces finally cumulated together in 2017 that we had an explosion of activity that left me feeling both exhausted and exhilarated. We saw LTC go on Coinbase, we saw an ICO rush with new issues like Bancor raising 150mil in 3 hours, we saw the absurdity that is cryptokitties crushing the ETH network, we saw Bitcoin Cash and the shitshow surrounding that, we saw Segwit and the long awaited Bitcoin futures. I will always remember where I was at the moment I watched Bitcoin pass $10,000 on GDAX. I will never forget the sweat as I watched the Gemini Auction for my BTC and then waiting for the payment to settle. And I will never forget the flurry of questions, advice seeking and inquiries from people in December as the media spotlight made cryptocurrencies a mainstream concern. We've come a long way, from the days of being considered oddball technogeeks to now being the vanguard of early adopters.

Some major trends in 2017 and lessons learned

  • The Mainstreaming of Cryptocurrencies: This was the year that the "normies" entered crypto in astounding numbers, especially later in the year and cumulating in December. From Ice Tea companies to my hairdresser, everyone wanted to be involved in crypto. New naive money will continue to pump into the market this year, and its important we welcome them while also keeping their expectations grounded in reality. Encouraging new investors with stories of how they can double their investment in a week is not a sustainable method of keeping them interested in crypto.
  • ICO Craze: For many 2017 was the year that the ICO. People made a ton of money by getting into ICOs early before a coin became hyped by the marketing efforts. Sites like ICOBench sprung up and provided people an easy way to find new ICOs to invest in, and those who got in could get a handsome profit by buying the coins for pennies then selling them for dimes a few months later at an exchange, with many ICOs offering pre-sale discounts for early registrations. I suspect that this trend will actually die out in 2018 as there seem to be way too many coins coming out now and they won't all be able to pump, we're already seeing ICOs recently getting dumped hard the moment they start trading on an exchange.
  • The rapid development of altcoin investment: At the beginning of the year the marketcap for altcoins as just $2 billion. By the end of 2017 it grew to over $370 billion. This was the year that investing in cryptos became about more than just Bitcoin. We saw an explosion of new promising altcoins, Binance launched in July, LTC was added to Coinbase and Ethereum really came into its own as a dominant force. I suspect that this focus on altcoins will continue as its now easier than ever to research and obtain them.
  • Resilience in the face of regulation: China banned initial coin offerings and bitcoin exchanges in the first weeks of September. The ban caused a precipitous drop in cryptocurrency flows worldwide and invoked panic within me, with Bitcoin going down to almost $3K. However we recovered surprisingly quick. This is why I wasn't too concerned with the recent news that Korea may crack down on exchanges. Cryptocurrencies are decentralized and distributed, and while government actions certainly can hurt the price in the short term, I think any attempts at increased crackdowns will result in a recovery within a few months. Crypto seems to be a lot more resilient than most people realize to laws trying to destroy it, so don't freak out when you hear a story about increased regulation in the Far East.
  • Institutional money coming in: We saw the speculation of an ETF not come to fruition, but in December the CME Group and CBOE started trading futures on Bitcoin. The lead up to this event and the subsequent decline and relative stabilization of Bitcoin will lead to a cascade of effects. We now have a genuine price discovery mechanism that will put downward pressure on BTC with its futures contracts. McAfees predictions of a million dollar BTC are not going to come to fruition now that you can short it.
  • Chase for the "next bitcoin": Lambo psychosis dominated and continued into the new year with nearly every coin in the top 100 showing a steep parabolic rise. This is actually something a lot of long term investors find deeply troubling, because now people are hungry for crazy x10 gains within a month and that is simply unsustainable.

Some predictions for the year 2018

Decline for Bitcoin
I have a long-standing emotional connection to Bitcoin and really do want it to succeed. But by now even the early adopters have come to accept how far away we are from the original vision of the currency. We are now seeing a decrease in adoption among ecommerce sites, which a sad state of affairs. I'm not so confident that Lighning will be enough at this point. Lightning likely wont be here for at least another 1-2 years and the problem will be user adoption. Segwit gave users a 40% discount on fees, and was a relatively simple upgrade, yet its 2018 and only 8% of transactions come from Segwit addresses. LN is way more difficult to implement, so don't expect it to be useful for at least a year after release. Core developers should have followed through with the New York Agreement and increased the blocksize to 2 MB. It's actually much more practical to scale BTC through miners than users, as most miners abide by the rules of a small set of mining pools and use the same software. Segwit2X was doomed to failure but it had 90% support among miners before the campaign against it started, and even after it had over 70% miner support. I think 70% miner support before a fork is vastly better for initiating a change than 8% user support.
Core team really needs to wake up right away and realize that the continual declines in market dominance are a reflection of Bitcoins failure to find utility, and that the first movers advantage and name brand will not last forever. Unless it solves the problem of insane transaction fees, ballooned mempool size, long transaction times and most of the accounts not even being able to afford to move the balance out I don't see BTC doing anything but declining in market dominance.
Ethereum will become an even more dominant force
I can see the long awaited flipening come in 2018. Ethereum already processes way more transactions than anything else, it already is basically THE platform for new coins and powers so much of the entire cryptocurrency ecosystem. The Constantinople fork and Casper Proof-of-Stake changes should take care of the TPS limitations for the next few years, and I expect to see an explosion of dApps in 2018. Ethereum has tons of developer support behind it and POS means people will want to hold it for the long term. Its already become my #1 core/safe-haven position and I think a 3-5K range in 2018 is completely reasonable.
The emergence of transactable business-oriented blockchains
The last few years were about theory and technological innovation, but I think 2018 will be the year that cryptocurrencies finally start to demonstrate value in solving business problems.
Ultimately a cryptocurrency is pointless if it doesn't solve some transactional problem or alleviate some inefficiency in the value-exchange process. There are several sectors/cases for business users that are ripe for blockchain technology: supply chain, settlement layers between intercurrency transactions, payment processing, offloading processing tasks onto blockchains, identity management...etc.
I expect that transactable coins that actually have functionality will be the big winners. ICX, WTC, VEN, NEO, XLM and others that target enterprise-oriented use cases will likely be the focus over the next year.
The rise of a DAG coin as a standard for transfers between exchanges, most likely Raiblocks (XRB)
Lets be perfectly honest: Right now the vast majority of transactions being conducted on the blockchain is simply moving cryptos around various exchanges. Its quite a nerve-wracking process, watching thousands of dollars sitting unconfirmed on the blockchain explorer for hours is not a pleasant experience. If you move your balances a lot you will end up losing substantial money to transfer fees. This is why I can see a light fast DAG becoming a standard for inter-exchange transfers of funds, specifically XRB after it gets listed on Binance. Being a DAG the process of onboarding isn't as simple as just adding another ERC20 coin, but once the Raiblocks team figures this out on Binance I suspect that adoption will follow quickly to other exchanges. The quick transactions speed and no cost will make it the ideal coin to exploit arbitrage between less liquid and more liquid markets.
The rise of "dividend" coins"
The next year should be one where the stretched valuations are questioned, and those coins that pay out a form of dividend and can thus be easily valued will become a safe harbor. NEO, EOS, ARK, VEN,OMG among others should gain favor. We actually saw NEO do particularly well in this recent downturn. I expect to see a lot more also following this dividend payment model.
**The move away ...

Thermodynamics & Silent Weapons for Secret Wars or Crypto Anarchy 101: Statists Failing & Anarchists Thriving

Crypto Anarchy 101: Statists Failing & Anarchists Thriving
The black-market, the free-market, is what kept people alive throughout the worst of oppressions. The black market has been the art of surviving amidst all types of tyrannies and slaveries. The black market, aka System D, is something that everyone in the world will need to start getting comfortable with. CryptoAnarchy is the ultimate manifestation of complete market freedom, and it is here to stay.
Libertarians are beginning to finally realize their incredible advantage within this new market environment. The unfortunate statist masses have been programmed to feel uncomfortable with the mere idea of complete market freedom. Keep in mind that as of 2009, half of the world’s workers- around 1.8 billion – were employed by System D. The black market is only expected to grow even more so with the incentive structures being built out in order to advance the technological advancements of cryptography.
Humanity has never experienced a true free-market until now. For the first time in history one is beginning to take shape. The traditional business sector is beginning to realize that they are not even mentally equipped for the implications of having applied cryptography that is powered by market incentives. This is evident in their trite attempts at integrating these new technologies with traditional banking and financial systems. Their lack of creativity, and dependence on government, is a clear testament to how much they will be hurt in the coming future.
Statists Double Down after Failure: Tether and Stablecoins
Many within the crypto space have attempted to bridge the gap between legacy banking and cryptocurrencies. Amongst the various attempts at capitalizing with these new technologies, the idea of a stablecoin entered the space via Tether (USDT).
A stable coin is a cryptocurrency that is pegged on a 1 to 1 ratio to the US dollar, or any other asset- like gold- or fiat. Tether operated as a stable coin pegged to the US dollar on a 1 to 1 ratio. The biggest attribute behind stablecoins resided in their ability to provide stability in an otherwise volatile market.
For a long time many within the crypto space were curious about Tether’s means of operating with USD. Earlier this year TDV was the first entity to exclusively reported to its subscribers the origin of Tether’s “secret sauce;” fractional reserve banking.
The laws of fractional reserve banking allowed the Noble Bank of Puerto Rico to provide Tether with the legal means of operating as a stable coin pegged to the US dollar. The Noble Bank recently went bankrupt due to being insolvent. Noble Bank was the bank of Bitfinex and Tether. As a result, Tether and Bitfinex ended their relationship with Noble Bank.
It is important that you as a subscriber move your crypto out of Bitfinex. You should never keep your cryptoin exchanges. When you do this you don’t actually control the private keys of your coins.
(If you are an active trader, please consider using Bisq. Bisq is an open source decentralized exchange that does not control your private keys while trading. It is the most Anarchist exchange in the market right now.)
After losing its partnership with Noble Bank, Bitfinex began banking with HSBC. On October 15th, Bitfinex tweeted that their fiat deposit system was re-enabled. Overall, Bitfinex is still in the midst of reorganizing itself as an exchange with proper banking liquidity. For this reason we are of the opinion that it is best to stay away from Bitfinex until they are more solvent in their banking partnerships.
Tether (USDT) on the other hand is suffering from a lack of proper banking structures. Binance paused all USDT withdrawals and KuCoin, the exchange, also paused USDT deposits and withdrawals.
Tether is currently at around 2.1bn dollar market cap. Tether holders are having a difficult time cashing out of their Tether for USD. It is expected that unless Tether gets its banking situation sorted out, we will see movement out of Tether. This situation has caused the price of Tether to hit a low of $0.90 to the USD. As of writing this, Tether is trading at around $0.97 to the dollar.
The situation for Tether is dire at the present moment. We expect to see many Tether holders drop their Tether for Bitcoin, or other more cryptographically secure cryptocurrencies. This will more than likely be one of the main strategies that will be implemented in order to cash out of Tether.
This overall situation is once again showing us how unstable things are when dealing with fiat. We hope for the market to realize that there is more security in cryptocurrencies than there is in fiat backed stablecoins. Stablecoins will always have the instability of the fiat currencies that they are pegged to. The time will eventually come when people will realize that cryptocurrencies are a better store of value than stablecoins.
In spite of all of the issues circulating Tether, statist entrepreneurs are doubling down on their desire for stablecoins. We are seeing the beginning of what we believe will be a trend in the upcoming future; that is, stable coins pegged to various countries’ fiat and assets like precious metals. The new USD stablecoins recently announced to the market are GeminiUSD, TrueUSD, and Paxos Standard.
Volatility as a Sign of Life in the Market
Contrary to the statist perception on volatility, one can also view volatility in crypto as proper to a market that is fully alive. Crypto, for the first time in history, freed the market from bankster manipulation. Arguably, volatility is to be expected in an unregulated free-market where everyone in the world is for the first time welcomed to participate.
In comparison to the legacy financial system, crypto is fully alive while the former is handicapped by regulations, coercion, and disconnected from true free-market signals. That is, volatility signals of a free-market that breathes freely for the first time. Volatility is indicative of a market that is fully alive.
The desire for individuals to attach crypto to the legacy financial system, under the pretense of “less volatility,” is indicative of individuals that will have a hard time operating outside the bounds of regulation and government coercion. As long as we have statists uncomfortable with Anarchy, we will have stablecoins pegged to fiat.
Various Libertarian entrepreneurs are also beginning to dabble with the idea of a stablecoin that is pegged to precious metals. The challenge of these projects will be the same regulation that oversees fiat. Remember that the difference offered to the world by cryptocurrencies resides in crypto’s ability to operate freely within System D, without regulation. It is this new market, the true free-market, that for the first time is unstoppable.
Bitfinex’s Effect on EOS
Bitfinex is one of the entities that holds the greatest amount of votes for EOS Block Producers (BPs). For this and other reasons, we are currently expecting a shakeup of votes for selected top BPs. It is important that you remain attentive to the happenings within EOS and move your votes accordingly.
We will soon be coming out with more details on our perceptions regarding various BPs.
There are various discussions regarding BPs pending arbitration. This is a good thing. All shakeups lead us closer to more transparency and accountability. This should not directly affect the price of EOS, aside from what will result from the expected FUD of future BP shake-ups.
The Resilience of CryptoAnarchy after Blockstream’s Fake Sidechain
Amongst the various innovations within Bitcoin, sidechains have- for the past 5 years- existed as one of the holy grails of innovation. Blockstream, as a company, was put together to manifest sidechains. They sold us the concept of a sidechain as they were sourcing capital during their first rounds of investment; this was in October of 2014.
Sidechains were supposed to be delivered by Blockstream as a way to make Bitcoin innovation competitive to that of altcoin innovation. Sidechains were supposed to be “the Altcoin killer.”
After all of this time, Blockstream only delivered Liquid - which is not a sidechain- and called it a “sidechain.” That is, Liquid is not a sidechain when properly defined. Liquid is a multi-signature layer that allows for multiple exchanges to pool their money together to transfer funds amongst themselves. Liquid is not a true sidechain, it is more precisely a multi-signature wallet.
Calling Liquid a “sidechain” was just a marketing scheme by Blockstream in order to impress the illusion that they had delivered what they had promised. They didn’t. Blockstream gave up in attempting to create a true sidechain and created a multi-signature wallet instead. Keep in mind that Liquid is a “private sidechain.” Note that a proper sidechain ought to be made with open-source innovation in mind. Many of us see the actions of Blockstream as a bait and switch marketing scheme.
(For the rest of this article I will use the words “Drivechains” and “sidechains” interchangeably as synonyms. Drivechains are what sidechains originally were supposed to be- according to the original Blockstream Sidechain white paper. Blockstream’s bait and switch marketing scheme led to them calling “sidechain” a multisignature wallet that is not at all what they promoted on their white paper. Paul Sztorc, in an attempt to differentiate himself from the Blockstream perversion of the word “sidechains,” called his development of true sidechains “Drivechains.”)
Drivechain Sidechains
Paul Sztorc, the creator of decentralized prediction markets, was very much looking forward to Blockstream’s creation of sidechains. It was his hope that his decentralized prediction market would run as a Bitcoin sidechain. At about the end of 2015 Sztorc was done with BitcoinHiveMind, his decentralized predictions market (previously known as TruthCoin).
After realizing that Blockstream was not going to deliver on sidechains, as promised, Sztorc felt he needed to build it himself. The creation of his Drivechains started off as a means to an end for Sztorc; he needed true Sidechains for his decentralized predictions market- so he build it himself.
On September 24, 2018 Paul Sztorc announced the launch of the first Drivechain release. This release was accompanied with fervent followingof old-school Bitcoiners that immediately jumped into experimenting with Drivechains on the testnet known as “Testdrive.”
The Drivechain protocol is an alternative to the sidechain project originally proposed by Blockstream. It is a simpler design that enables blockchain compatibility in which the system still utilizes the same 21 million bitcoin ruleset- the Nakamoto consensus.
Drivechains are intended to allow for permissionless innovation without diluting or challenging the value of the main cryptocurrency. Contrary to other means of innovation within crypto, any innovation that comes from a Drivechain sidechain actually adds value to the Bitcoin protocol- for it does not dilute the main cryptocurrency. Satoshi vaguely discussed the importance of the ideas of sidechains and multi-blockchain connectivity on June 17, 2010.
This creation, of providing varied market options, make infighting and political discourses regarding consensus upgrades now seem infantile. Drivechains will provide the market with ongoing competitive solutions for blockchain development. Investors will now be exposed to options that would otherwise have been shunned in a less free environment.
The strategic advantage of Drivechain sidechains is that they will offer investors various options in the form of alternative chains. It is important to keep in mind that Drivechains are available for blockchains with the same UTXO set. That is, Drivechains are available for both BitcoinCore (BTC) and BitcoinCash (BCH).
How Drivechains work
Namecoin was the vision of early Bitcoin adopters of creating a DNS and identity infrastructure based on Bitcoin; that is, .bit DNS. This technology piggy backed on top of Bitcoin mining. That is, if you so chose you could merged-mined Namecoin alongside BTC or BCH. Namecoin can absorb hashrate from BTC or BCH without needing its own miners.
Merge-mining with BTC or BCH is also the process of validating and safeguarding Drivechain sidechains. Unlike Namecoin, Drivechain sidechains don’t require miners to run special software. For Drivechain sidechains miners implement what is known as blind-merge-mining. In blind-merge-mining the nodes of the sidechain run the software, not the miners. This operates under the assumption that the nodes running the software also hold BTC or BCH.
A payment fee is paid to miners to blind-merge-mine the sidechain, in a similar way that Namecoin merge-mining pays a fee. In this process, miners don’t have to run any software- they just passively make money for blind-merge-mining blocks with sidechains.
The main difference with sidechains is that you are not mining another coin like Namecoin, but rather you are mining the same BTC or BCH in another sidechain when you do the blind-merge-mining. Miners don’t get paid with the sidechain, they receive payment from the mainchain that they already trust when they blind-merge-mine. Miners are also economically benefited by always getting paid in the superior coin that they are already intentionally mining; BTC or BCH.
As BTC or BCH moves in and out from the mainchain to a sidechain, there might be claims of ownership that may cause disputes. Drivechain prevents this by emphasizing the superiority of the mainchain over sidechains. Sidechains have to report on exactly what it is doing- at all times- to the main chain. Whenever a sidechain wants to transfer money back to the mainchain it has to do it very slowly. This safeguards the network from theft. The slow movement of funds from the sidechain to the mainchain can be arbitrage by individuals who will be willing to purchase sidechain receipts for BTC or BCH coming from sidechains at a discount. People will also be able to do atomic swaps between chains in the near future. (Atomic swaps, or atomic cross chain trading, is the exchange of one cryptocurrency to another cryptocurrency, without the need of trusting a third-party).
It is the intent of Drivechains to create the interaction of miners with sidechains as seamless as possible. However, it is still important to have guarantee that money ends up in the right place. This is the reason for the slow movement of funds from sidechains to the mainchain.
The movement of a certain amount of transactions coming from a sidechain to the mainchain is batched up into one transaction with its own transaction ID. This transaction is frozen in place where miners and developers can examine it for at least a month (there are talks of even making this process longer between 3 to 6 months). During this time miners vote on whether to allow the payment to go through or not. Upon receiving enough upvotes, the batched up transactions are released unto the mainchain. The slowing down of movement of BTC or BCH from sidechains to mainchain decreases the threat of miners stealing BTC or BCH from a sidechain.
The sidechains are always watching the mainchain, so they know to credit people immediately when the mainchain sends money to it. Sidechains also know when the miners have accepted the release of batched up locked funds that are released unto the mainchain. Once the sidechain receives notification of the miners acceptance of funds in the mainchain, the sidechain destroys the funds that were frozen awaiting miner upvotes.
It is overall acknowledged that sidechains increase the value of BTC and BCH, which eventually make mining more profitable. It would be counterproductive for miners to attack and steal funds from sidechains. That is, miners acting maliciously decreases the value of their own equipment. In spite of this fact, it is good that Drivechains make it increasingly more difficult for theft to occur.
Miners, through their voting process, also get to punish bad sidechain actors. Any malicious sidechain will be cleaned out by miners. This is the opposite of the Ethereum model where anyone can code anything into the Ethereum blockchain, to the point that it could become a detriment to the Ethereum mainchain itself. That is, anyone can create a new ERC20 or ERC721 token without any vetting from the network.
Coins are moved from the mainchain to the sidechain by means of sending coins to an address that represents the sending of funds from the mainchain to the sidechain. Anyone running the given sidechain software will recognize that funds were sent to the sidechain- this will automatically credit the person with the same amount of BTC or BCH on the sidechain. Also, the sidechain is programmed to recognize the reception of funds unto the mainchain address from where it will automatically credit the user the same amount of BTC or BCH unto a sidechain wallet. People on the mainchain don’t have to know anything about this particular address. As far as they know, it is just another address.
Embrace the Spontaneous Order of Market Anarchy It is important that people within BTC and BCH take on a more Hayekian approach to entrepreneurship. Many within crypto are uncomfortable with the mere notion of spontaneous order. It is important that we as Ancaps lead the way in motivating people to experiment with their entrepreneurship.
In the past few years, the desire of individuals to covet the development of crypto has become more apparent. These people need to be ignored. No one is the leader of Bitcoin or crypto development. The best innovators within crypto are those that create tools that empower other entrepreneurs to create more options.
It is this spontaneous order that we should welcome and promote at all times. Many within BTC and BCH will not accept or feel comfortable with the radical spontaneous order enabled by Drivechains. This is good reasonto brush up on your Austrian Economics in order to properly confront minds that are fearful of human freedom.
The Ancap entrepreneurs who are most comfortable with spontaneous order will be the same ones who will produce the greatest amount of value. The development of CryptoAnarchy is guided by the science of praxeology and Austrian Economics. Drivechains are testament to the augmentation of our libertarian order are necessary for CryptoAnarchy to thrive.
Drivechains and Investment Strategy
The philosophical and economic advantage of sidechain innovation is that it enables the development of BTC and BCH with an investor-centric intention. It is the market’s investment that now decides the best means for scaling and development. Politics and propaganda take an almost insignificant backseat to that of market forces. The technology is now readily available for investors to test drive with their BTC or BCH on any given proposed sidechain. That is, you actually get to experience the value, or lack of value of a new innovation without jeopardizing your position as an investor.
All investment decisions are about strategy. Sidechains empower the investor’s strategy by allowing the investor to survey all of the possible value propositions of his/her original investment without having to incur any actual costs. In a similar way, sidechains also provide developers with quick market feedback on the aspects of development that are most favored by the market.
Drivechains are a pivotal step in maturing the crypto space into becoming more conscientious in considering the investment strategy of those buying the coins. It is important for innovators to start taking the investor’s strategy into account. Drivechains force developers to consider what is best for the investor, not just what is desired by a given team of developers.
Here we have not only a better proposition for investors, but also an incentive for developers to use Drivechains in future crypto experimentation. When experimenting with an altcoin, the measure of success is contingent on this new altcoin gathering a new pool of investors to literally buy into the project. With a sidechain you are already dealing with a more seasoned group of investors that will provide you with more accurate market feedback, being that their investment is now fortified by all other sidechain experimentations that they have already tested at no cost.
Altcoins will soon no longer be the locus of innovation within crypto. All future innovation will be offered the option to experiment within BTC or BCH via sidechains. Keep in mind that all previous innovations, already tested in the market by successful altcoins, are now easily adopted by BTC or BCH. It is also important to note that creative experimentation on sidechains do not at all jeopardize the mainnets of BTC or BCH. On the contrary, sidechains will make BTC and BCH much more valuable. When the Drivechain craze begins we will see a BTC and BCH bull run. Don’t be surprised if sidechains are the main reason for the next all time highs.
Statists Failing & Anarchists Thriving
It is important that we understand that the legacy banking system is completely dead. They are barely adopting simulations of cryptocurrencies unto their banking structures to stay alive. Stablecoins are a manifestation of this bankster angst to remain current.
True market innovation is found in the embrace of Market Anarchy. CryptoAnarchy is growing exponentially with tools that are beyond the reach of state megalomaniacs. Drivechains are an example of the CryptoAnarchist tools that will result in further anti-fragility of this new crypto free-market.
Proper Austrian Economic incentive structures coupled with applied cryptography is our lethal weapon against nation states and central banks. Arguably, our Ancap philosophy is what guides applied cryptography in the market towards success. For this reason it is important that we keep revisiting the texts of Rothbard, Mises, Hayek, and Konkin throughout our crypto endeavors. Peace!

Hero Node — AMA

https://preview.redd.it/709g6p8g54011.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5864cddf06cdfa93596983647faba08cf1e050c1
Hello everyone, we hosted the AMA (ask me anything) in our community yesterday. The co-founder Mason answered the questions of the group members one by one. Due to limited time, we only answered some typical questions. Please understand. After the event, we organized all the questions in the group into articles for you to review.
Of course, if your question is not in this article, please send an email to [[email protected]](/).
1.How long has the project been going on? And when can we expect the launch of the mainnet?
When we were in the form of the company Dianrong.com, we started the development and open source it on GitHub after 2yrs. In the end, we decided to raise money in an ICO form. The most crucial part of the project is building a network that support’s DApp’s, and that’s something we’ve already achieved. For more information regarding this, please visit the following article we wrote:
https://medium.com/@hero_node/hero-node-dashboard-is-officially-launched-taking-a-big-leap-in-dapp-development-8ccd28f60c64
Also, our own public chain will be published at the end of 2019!
2. When can we expect a detailed roadmap?
The roadmap in the whitepaper contains our complete roadmap, this will be added to the website soon!
3. Why do you have two Telegram groups?
Because of high interest, our first group reached the maximum amount of members, to give everyone a chance we decided to create a second group! But, we will try to see if we could emerge everything back into one group!
4. What is the nature of the partnership between Hero Node & Qtum?
We have a technical cooperation with public chain investors such as Qtum, ITC and BTM. Hero Node plans to support a number of public chains including Zilliqa. We believe that Hero Node can help them on expanding their markets /eco-system by integrating the public chain services, besides that we also require a variety of public chains to solve different challenges.
5. How can we verify your investment from Fenbushi and Qtum?
For Qtumm please go to: https://qtumeco.io/dapps and for Fenbushi, please check the images below:
https://preview.redd.it/9my79za954011.jpg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=81f028ce542dcf9b0a0c36c6dec84502036475ce
6. Why didn’t Hero Node choose to support the price?
We just started and are really in the beginning stage of this amazing project, we don’t want to manipulate currency prices. We believe that with the development of the project the price will rise!
7. Do you have your own public chain?
As stated in the first question we will publish our own public chain at the end of 2019. For more information regarding our public chain please read the whitepaper. The project was divided into three phases:
Validation
Reward
Community
During the first two phases, we’ll be making use of the tokens based on ERC-20. When we enter the last phase the tokens will be generated by our own blockchain consensus algorithm.
8. I think the code on GitHub is not so crucial?
That’s because we only publish the code of the reward and consensus mechanism. We do have plans to publish the complete code after we’ve fully tested and verified everything.
9. Why can the refund be done only during specific times? and why is it mandatory that you can only refund if you haven’t traded the tokens?
We’ve chosen to open refunds at specific times to give our investors some time to think about the refund program. Regarding the second questions, we have implemented this policy to prevent investor using the refund for arbitrage which can have an impact on the market.
10. Who are Hero Node’s direct competitors? Why is Hero Node better than others, for example, EOS, FileCoin, IPFS?
Both Hero Node and EOS are trying to serve the Dapp development, but as you can see we’ve taken a completely different approach. Hero Node prefers to be completely decentralized, so it integrates some public chains rather than create an all-round chain. In frontend decentralization, Hero Node and IPFS are very similar, but we are not Dweb, but help developers to deliver the real Dapp. Also regarding the incentives part, we are not the same with FileCoin. If interested in that, I recommend everyone to read the posts I wrote on Medium about EOS and IPFS:
https://medium.com/@hero_node/solution-to-the-impossible-trinity-talking-from-the-trend-of-ipfs-web-player-56f28a0abcc6
https://medium.com/@hero_node/attention-eos-could-really-be-a-cancer-cell-9420d7ea8c16
11. How can I get in contact with your recruitment team?
Please send your resume to [[email protected]](/)
12. How many tokens do we need for running a node?
Running nodes won’t consume your tokens, but developers need to lock the tokens to get more resources, such as storage, bandwidth, etc.
13. Which kind of consensus mechanism is Hero Node based on? PoS or PoW?
It will be similar to PoW but different with Bitcoin, our public chain will use a creative algorithm which is different with PoW/PoS.
For a more in-depth description of our consensus, please read the article:

15. What is the main focus of the team at the moment?
We are currently focusing on development & marketing!
16. Why are you listed on the Dapp page of Qtum? Are you their Dapp?
No, but we can help them with their ecosystem, their developers can use Hero Node to easily develop a Dapp based on Qtum chain.
17. Why do you have a refund policy?
Because we want to protect our investors.
18. How big is the team? And how many of them are developers?
Our team consists of 14 people, 8 of them are developers. We have many part-time developers and are still hiring.
19. A lot of people are wondering when will Hero Node be listed on the next exchange, could you please shed some light on the Binance rumors regarding certain transactions
There is this reliable ethscan service that informs about the listing of coins on exchanges, and more than often they are genuinely reliable. But we planned listing on exchanges within one month after ICO and of course there could be some top ones, but due to NDA we can’t say more about it until it’s finalized. Please keep an eye on our announcement channel, because that’s where we’ll be announcing it: https://t.me/HeroNodeChannel
20. Your advisory team seems more like finance people than blockchain experts, can you tell us more about the team?
At the moment, Hero Node has 3 advisors:
Kevin Guo is chairman of CBAC, which is the top organization of blockchain application in China
Richard Wang, the partner of DFJ, many experience on blockchain investment such as Vechain. Also, he has many resources in the area.
Jerry Liu, the professor from Stanford University.
21. Why is the contract of the crowd-sale, not open source?
Because of security reasons, we’ll be open sourcing the contract after the refund is finished. Also because there could be some bugs for the Ethereum and smart contract written by Solidity. Although we’ve tested the contract many times, for security reasons we will keep it closed until the refund is finished.
23. When will the code of the node be open source?
We will open source the code at the end of this year!
24. Compared to other cross-chain projects, what are the differences between Hero Node and others?
Please read the following article: https://medium.com/@hero_node/liu-guoping-founder-of-hero-node-talked-about-blockchains-cross-chain-506b2d3f90f084
25. In what stage of development is Hero Node now?
We’ve had some demo’s for DApps and have almost finished the integration parts of some public chains. If you’re interested you could take a look at our visualization map our node:
http://106.14.187.240/dashboard/geo
26. What do you think about the crypto market? Is it a bubble? And do you think that blockchain technology is overvalued?
We believe that blockchain is the future.
27. What did Hero Node do to help develop Dapp?
In short, we did the following:
Integration of public chains and distributed storage services.
Cross-platform dev framework called Hero Mobile.
The fully decentralized network and DApp eco-system
28、Do you have plan for integrating NEO?
We’re considering a cooperation with them.
29. Can you tell us something about the deployment of nodes?
At the moment we have ~10 nodes running all over the world, please check our visualization map:
http://106.14.187.240/dashboard/geo
30. With which projects have you established a partnership?
At the moment we have a partnership with Qtum, IoT, and much more is on the way! We plan to support a number of public chain including Zilliqa.
31. Where is Hero Node registered and where are you based?
Singapore, but currently a part of the team is working from China.
32. Is the command “npm install” available?
Yes, you can use the command to add ETH and IPFS service and welcome your contributions
33.How do you ensure that your team’s token are locked for 2 years, and will you be able to cash out in advance? Why not use smart contracts?
We will announce the team’s address.
34.Don’ t we need a minimum amount of Her to setup a node ?
No.
37. Why does the Hero Node team prefer to work with IPFS instead of Stroj for example?
Our developers have more than 2 years of experience working with IPFS, we also did compare IPFS with other distributed storage services and IPFS came out as the most mature one at this moment
38. What is the lock plan for pre-sale tokens?
Pre-sale tokens will be locked for 3 months including base and bonus. Every month 1/3 of the tokens will be unlocked.
39. Could you please tell us more about the partnership with Ziliqa?
We’ve met them several times and are currently testing on their testnet.
40. How come HeroMobile is not updated frequently?
HeroMobile is already a relatively mature project. But we’re definitely improving it.
41. How to run a node without having to stake any tokens?
Running a node is like running a Bitcoin or Ethereum node. It does not require tokens, but it needs to provide hardware resources such as CPU, storage, and bandwidth.
42. How can we run nodes and is there an incentive structure to do so?
Yes, we will have a mining mechanism similar to the mining algorithm of POW, refer to this article please:
https://medium.com/@hero_node/talking-about-the-proof-of-existence-consensus-mechanism-9e90b7e8f4b7
43. Will the official decentralized Dapp still be launched in June ?
Yes it will be at end of June.
44. When can we run nodes?
At the beginning stage, we will provide partners with nodes to run and test. According to the roadmap, we will push it to everyone in early 2019.
45. Are the main target users of Hero Dapp developers? What’s the plan for adoption after the official launch?
Not only developers, but also node providers, even ordinary users can use dapp developed based on HeroNode.
We will first improve the node, and improve the tools and SDK at the end of this year. The next step will be to conduct a lot of testing, and all developers are welcome to join in the test. After the entire system has matured, we will hold many hackathon activities to attract more developers. Of course, there will be many token incentives.
46. When will you guys start focusing on marketing?
We have already focused on marketing and are planning to do so even more. We welcome everyone to give us suggestions.
47. What is the next major milestone and when will that be reached?
Next milestone is the first Dapp releasing at end of June.
48. The hereditary idiots who wanted to refund or have refunded where will those HER tokens go? Will they be burnt or added to the ecosystem?
They will be reserved for partnerships.
49. Would you say you are in direct competition to EOS? If yes, how do differ? What is your edge for the adoption?
We have the same goal. We hope to solve the problem of developing Dapp, but EOS wants to obtain a balance in high tps, security and stability. Hero Node adopts the advantages of many public chains and pays more attention to ecological construction.
50. EOS is a cancer. I saw this post on Reddit. What does it mean?
EOS draws a lot of resources and it spreads like a cancer cell, affecting other ecologies. But in the end let’s see what it can give developers or if it is just a capitalist capital chase?
51. Dapp uses resources of Hero nodes that support both IPFS nodes and underlying blockchain nodes or are they the same?
Hero Node will integrate public chain resources and IPFS resources to form a complete ecosystem for developers to use
52. Will you recruit more developers ? While you compare to EOS, you know they have a very big team.
For sure, we will recruit more full-time and part-time workers. Development is our backbone.
53. Would you explain the difference between Hero Node and Filecoin model as they both consume resources by Dapps?
Filecoin is also an ecosystem of IPFS, but we are not just focusing on the storage part. We focus on the entire Dapp development cycle.
54. I appreciate the NDA clauses but as parting gift from this AMA — Can we get any juicy information that we can share with others and help bring the price up more.
At this stage we really could not share anything regarding our NDAs. Please be patient. There is lots of exciting news to come in the future.
55. Can someone please elaborate on the marketing efforts the team is doing?
  1. Recruiting more operators
  2. Some activities and development progress in China will also be synchronized to overseas media
  3. We are planning meetups in various countries.
56. What does “lock token” mean by developers?
This is a kind of behavior similar to the lease of resources. It can prevent resources from being abused, and it can positively cycle the entire ecosystem.
57. What’s the link on Medium of Hero? I want to read the articles about EOS and IPFS.
https://medium.com/@hero_node
58. Which gas limit i should use to make refund?
100,000
59. Already 3.5M tokens got refunded (technically out of circulation for now)?
Actually the number is 5.7M
60. Can you provide several examples on how someone will use your project and why your project is the best for this?
For example, when you place order an order on Amazon but use Paypal to fulfill the payment. These are two different companies with different processes. This is very difficult between the two public chains, at least for now it is difficult, Hero Node hopes to solve this problem by integrating the public chain and IPFS resources and creating a whole ecosystem. In the near future, you can use QTUM to place orders, but you will pay with ETH.
61. Seems to be the majority of people have no clue what they buy or why its unique I gotta be honest myself I don’t know the method behind coding for blockchain what do you use for coding and how do you test the code?
Our code structure is divided into Hero Aggregate Layer, Hero Node Gateway, Hero Mobile Protocol, Hero Kit and so on. We will have unit testing for each function in each structure. After each unit runs tests, we will perform process testing and carry out a large number of tests before delivering the software.
62. What you think about Morpheus labs? Are they your competitors?
Sorry, we don’t know much about them.
END
In an open world, Hero Node welcomes any and all feedback. Especially helpful feedback will be rewarded!

The original post's content was as follows:
I don't understand how anyone can refute the above statement at this point. We have all seen the videos of transactions taking <2s. We have moved from wallet to wallet instantly with 0 fees. We have witnessed tests showcasing how Nano can handle thousands of times the transactions that Bitcoin and Litecoin can currently handle per second when the coin is still in its adoption infancy.
I keep asking myself why the never ending war of who has the fastest confirmations or the lowest fees or whether bigger blocks are superior to The Lightning Network is still occuring. Bitcoin, Litecoin, bitcoin cash, Request, etc. the list goes on of coins that are still trying to solve the wrong problems...
Nano has won. Nano has zero fees and instant transactions (or as close to instant as can be achieved given the infrastructure limits of ping times and CPU power). Its phenomenal transaction throughput means it could be adopted by the whole world without bottleneck. It’s infinitely scalable thanks to its block-lattice technology. There will be no more moments of 100,000+ unconfirmed transactions. There will be no more waiting weeks if you dont pay high enough transaction fees. No more waiting 2 hours to transfer from Binance to Bittrex or Kucoin to your wallet. Want to accept crypto at your website? Want to liquidate your assets? Want to take advantage or an arbitrage opportunity. Nano already can do all of those things. Instantly. and FREE.
The initial exchange it got listed on had security holes that made many initial investors weary, and has scared many new adopters, causing the price to dwindle amidst the past month of fud/fear. People have associated the fault of the exchange with the nano/XRB name, even there was no fault of the tech. But the coin has since moved to exchanges with proven track records. Kucoin. Binance. More to come soon.
Of the pure, non-utility cryptocurrencies trying to solve the technology behind a decentralized and transferrable store of value (coins like Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash and Litecoin that operate solely as currencies) Nano has no equal. It has found a better way.
Please call me out on being a shill. Search google and check my facts. I honestly implore you research everything I said. The majority of shilled coins cannot walk their talk. You will find if you look though, nano actually can. In early adoption any trading is always a game of hype, pumps, and dumps that so many people get burned on. The safest winner at the end though is always the product the can provide the promised technology. Nano already has that technology. Do not miss out on this before it shoots back above $40 and beyond. Nano is honestly one of the brightest stars in and crypto thus far.

[uncensored-r/CryptoCurrency] Why Raiblocks is the future

The following post by MaxMusa is being replicated because the post has been silently removed and some comments within it have been openly removed.
The original post can be found(in censored form) at this link:
np.reddit.com/ CryptoCurrency/comments/7p40ij
The original post's content was as follows:
THIS POST IS MORE GEARED TOWARDS NEWCOMERS OR THOSE ON THE FENCE. Not a lot of technical information at all.
RaiBlocks is the closest you can get to a “sure thing” in the crypto world, and I’d like to lay out my reasoning for that statement. I will do my best to put the case forward for RaiBlocks without putting down other major cryptos, as they all have their use cases. Anyone who thinks “Bitcoin is dead” is foolish as it is still by far the most used, stress-tested, worked on and secure crypto and the value of that cannot be overstated. However, looking towards the future, RaiBlocks is the clearly superior form of transaction.
There are no fees, and it is virtually instant. By no fees I do not mean low fees, I mean no fees. You can send $10 to and from another wallet a million times, and still have exactly $10. This allows for the very first time a crypto to be used as a real world currency, and not just a store of value. Any fee, even a small $1 fee, is a disincentive to spend and unsuitable for any currency that is going to be used for everyday purchases. Would you buy a 50c item from a corner store if it cost you at least double that amount in fees? Of course not, psychologically there is a massive barrier there. Even credit card processor fees have limited small purchases, many small businesses thus have minimum buys or add a % fee on top of credit or debit card transactions. With Raiblocks, you can send any amount, big or small, and not pay a dime for it, and neither does the receiver. Raiblocks focuses on one thing and one thing only – being a useable currency. Virtually every other “currency” is ruined by attempting other use cases at the same time. Rai is NOT trying to be a currency AND a smartcontract platform, and a place to store your virtual pets, and a quantum processor for the storage of decentralized beanie babies, it is doing one thing and one thing correctly. What else do you use cash for, besides buying and selling? Have you ever had the desire to write contracts on your bills, even though you could? Smart contracts and DAPPs are fantastic, but not in conjunction with also trying to be a currency.
The first major use case we will see, is as a medium of exchange for exchanges. When enough major cryptocurrency exchanges list Rai (KuCoin just did, Binance will soon, and I guarantee many others will be following), sending Rai from one exchange’s wallet to the other will become the cheapest and fastest way to transfer. So even before widespread adoption, it will have a major use case for transferring money between exchanges and wallets, it is simply the easiest and cheapest option. This is in the near future, measured in weeks and months not years.
It goes so far beyond that, though. When Rai is an option for a transfer, it will ALWAYS be the fastest and cheapest option in any use case, since there is nothing cheaper than free or quicker than a few seconds.
Another major indicator of its future success is its community. As I write this Rai is trending on Github, and has one of the most active Githubs besides Bitcoin itself. I don’t need to explain the implications of this and how essential it is for the coin’s long-term success. The team makes the coin (literally and figuratively) so that alone should inspire confidence. Raiblocks uses DAG (Directed Acyclic Graph) based block-lattice structure, which essentially means each user possesses their own blockchain. Instead of tracking transaction amounts, the user’s chain will record balances, which means much less storage. Rai uses hardly any electricity in comparison to other major coins – which is an enormous bonus in this environmentally friendly environment. I think government regulation threatening cryptocurrency is more likely to target mining than the coin itself, since government’s need excuses and massive energy being burned is a great excuse, so I think that Rai is also significantly less likely to be the target of regulation or swept up in a new regulatory law.
Because each user has control over their own blockchain, neither PoW or PoS is used in the traditional sense to decide on the global state of the ledger. The exceptions are it uses dPOS which allows users to choose a representative node on their behalf, which outsources the work of verifying signatures and voting when there is a conflict. PoW is also used sparingly, but only as an anti-spam measure. This unique system means it is very hard to spam the network (since it’s fee free, something like this is needed) since each block requires about 5 seconds to generate. That means an attempted spammer would require a lot of computational power, while the rest of the network would be completely unaffected. We’re talking many thousands of transactions in a very short period of time before the anti-spam measures are relevant, though.
In a space where every coin or token is trying to do everything and anything (usually, by tokenizing something that is completely unnecessary to tokenize, where the token adds no utility) it is fantastic to see a coin focus on one specific use, and do it perfectly. Rai is a libertarian’s wet dream, an inflation-proof, provably fair store of value and perfectly liquid currency rolled into one.
The implications for money transfer, especially for the enormous migrant remittance industry (582 billion in 2015 and growing) are enormous. Migrant workers who come from the Philippines, Mexico, etc and send money back to their families are sending smaller amounts every week. They are being fleeced by Western Union fees, and although Bitcoin had potential for this industry, for a short period of time, now it is only feasible to send much larger amounts with $30 transaction fees. I picture a scenario, when adoption is increased (it is still so early!) where people can buy Raiblocks via cash or card in their country of choice for a small fee, and send it back to their families FOR FREE and instantly, who can then choose to hold and sell when needed or cash out instantly. Not much infrastructure is needed to make this dream a reality.
Arbitrage will also be a major use case when Rai adoption is increased. Is there a price difference in any nonphysical product or commodity between countries? With Rai, that difference can be taken advantage of in a short period of time. Price differences between exchanges in different countries are often enormous, but with no fees and a few second transaction time, as long as both exchanges accept Rai that gap can be almost instantly leveraged for profit bringing perfect pricing to imperfect markets.
No fees allow the option for countless use cases that have never been considered before for any sort of electronic money, including fiat. There was a recent post on /raiblocks that made me smile, about a father using Rai for his son’s allowance. Think about it – if you want to give your child a few dollars here and there, while also being able to see how and where he spends it, what other option is there? A bank transfer for a few dollars would be absurd, and simply giving cash would require you to have perfect change (for example he gets two dollars for taking out the garbage, but you have two $5’s and a $20). Absolutely not for everyone, however for many people this is the perfect option. In this case the father is also teaching his son about the markets, about online security, probably a little about technology, and the importance of saving and investing. Speaking of that, how about tips? In the largest consumer economy on earth many people are paid majority in tips, which are often cash only. You can’t tip the doorman a few bucks with card, and many people including myself have had to shell out $5 or even $20 since they didn’t have dollar bills. Raiblocks is finally a cryptocurrency that is not just amazing because it is decentralized, because you truly own it and not the bank, but all that and it is more CONVENIENT. The only limit is adoption.
Raiblocks brings all the positives of cash and bank accounts, combined, and does each BETTER. It’s that simple.

The arbitrage opportunities involving Bitcoin are almost too numerous to list right now. Selling on EXMO or Livecoin will yield profits regardless of where one obtained BTC from.
